Estoy muy contenta con lo vivido en el 2011! Me tropecé, aprendí y me atreví. Todo esto me llevó a vivir cosas maravillosas. Les deseo un 2012 lleno de retos y risas. Ésta ilustración nace por mi necesidad de manejar mejor la temperatura de los colores. Recientemente trabajé mi primer comic infantil dirigido a niños y niñas de el área Polochic. I´m excited of everything I lived in 2011! I tripped, learn and dare to do new adventures. Everything gave me the chance to experience wonderful things. I wish you all a new year full of challenges and laughs. Recently I worked in my first children´s comic for girls and boys from Polochic area. Maybe that´s why this costume still is on my mind. Desde hace tiempo tenía la idea de adaptar mi tema favorito, con diferentes personajes. Una mapachita de Momostenango, Totonicapán. El crayón de madera no es de mis favoritos, por requerir tanta paciencia. Pronto publicaré la versión final.

From a while ago, I have had the idea of doing anthropomorphism, the nice thing is that I'm able to keep working with Guatemalan topics. This raccoon's clothes belongs to Momostenango, Totonicapán. Colored pencils are not my favorite, they require a considerable amount of patience. Soon I'll post the final illustration.

This little girl was created because I needed to practice my watercolor skills, its been long since I painted with this technique. I was so happy, to be away from the computer for at least a few hours.The mayan dress is from San Mateo Ixtatán, Huehuetenango. I listen to Adele while painting this little girl :)

A weekend full of inspiration, seeing the work of Alexandre Day I was inspired to make my own version of mayan girls, so here is my first one, hope you like it.
La pieza que hice para el festival Ixchel. El concepto: Realidades y limitaciones que viven las mujeres: se refleja en la transmisión del dolor de parte de las madres a las hijas. Por la situación histórica de nuestro país el dolor latente en el corazón de muchas mujeres, muchas veces es heredado en el corazón de hijas que crecen con sentimientos de frustración o culpa. La lágrima representa los recuerdos de dolor que se pasan de generación a generación. La vestimenta es de Chajul, Quiché (Guatemala). Área en donde existieron muchas masacres durante el conflicto armado.

This piece was done for the Ixchel Festival. The concept: Realities and limitations that women live: the idea it to represent the pain that many women live and feel, and then pass to their daughters. The tear represents those memories. The costumes are from Chajul Quiché in Guatemala. Where many massacres happened during the war.
Por ahora no tengo nada nuevo que mostrar, pero encontré esta ilustración que acompaño al material de los polis. Me gusta que siempre he podido incorporar la presencia indígena en los materiales que hago.

I don´t have anything new these days, so I found this illustration that was for a previous comission. I really like, how I always manage to draw some Mayan people in the works I´ve done.

Uno de los trabajos que he realizado con más cariño, el analizar los trajes de mi país me hace reflexionar de las lindas tradiciones que tenemos. Los trajes ilustrados son de Chimaltenango and Sololá (Guatemala).

Bueno he dejado pasar un poco de tiempo, por estar entretenida con algunos trabajitos. Les dejo el diseño de personajes que trabajé para IMASP, fué un reto el representar un uniforme tan serio, en algo más tierno para niñas y niños.
